If not mainstream, we are surely in the hype stage.
“Nancy L. Zimpher, emphasized in her 2013 state of the university address a strong commitment to “a full scale-up of Open SUNY”—aiming within three years to enroll 100,000 degree-seekers in the program, “making us the largest public online provider of education in the nation.””

“making us the Largest public online provider of education in the nation” for… what did Warhol say… 15 minutes?
The speed of change, the pace of change… as mentioned before…has implications too. Slow gradual change forms one kind of “future”, crazy fast careening down the highway change forms a different kind of “future”.
Sometimes that speeding change manages to “outrun” the blowback. Where’s the teachers unions? Have to assume they are scrambling for a way to slow this change down, to manage the change and at minimum reduce any job losses. There’s various kingdoms at risk, no?
