TESOL FAQ Tesols showed up in my GroupOn mailbox…as part of my Daily Deal for El Paso. I keep trying to kill my GroupOn subscription without success, but that’s another issue.
Of interest perhaps for the issue of certification, who are the gatekeepers who “require” or desire it of potential employees, and how much does the purveyor of the certificate charge for it, and the accompanying course.
Also, wasn’t aware there are so many acronyms for essentially the same process…teaching english…but apparently a certificate for one acronym, may not work for the other acronyms. Certification can be a bureaucratic nightmare… will that be part of motivation for transition?……where the exit qualification after finishing a DLE is replaced by entry qualification by employers?
Employers don’t like to pay added costs for an employee, so what’s the ROI? Perhaps more accurate evaluation of skill set of the potential employee if they “DIY”? Frustration with certificates that don’t actually predict the value of potential employee? This whole thing seems ripe for some big accreditation/qualifying website to arrive with everything under one roof approach…
