TedEd Tour video in flv format hosted on our PSA site. Again a test, loading speed etc. On my computer, it just downloads the file… so more to research on embedding links that will open rather than download.

The original post from 7.6.2012 includes more links that we don’t have uploaded to our site and thus dead now.  Two ted-videos  by Sir Ken Robinson, which I imagine can be searched for at the TED main website. The two to search for by him are “Creativity Education” from 2006, and one from 2010.

Here’s a current link to TED search for Ken Robinson.

7.6.2012

Kris shared TedEd links a while ago. Worth a revisit. The “cloud model” of course creation and hosting. Has a number of elements of server based adaptive learning incorporated. Would we want to play in their sandbox? Seems like a nice sandbox, but would we prefer to be in our own sandbox?

A question to answer going forward; do we need to be collaborating with SOMEBODY big, in order to provide adaptive learning? Is that the only way to do it, or is there an “independent way”?

Plus, I was watching some TED talks by Ken Robinson, which are seminal…his from 2006 was something in my NMSU OTL course in 2007, and he’s followed that very popular one with more TED videos.

He says we’re doing education all wrong, pretty much. Or rather, there’s much better ways to do it available to us, if we are willing to step out of conformity to the way it has been done. The way it’s all setup linearly.

Plus, imo, his presentation is a lot of fun; brilliantly talking about education, but with plenty of rim shot worthy one liners. Especially back in 2006. But either one, the man is a walking aphorism generator.
