From Gary: For what it is worth, Michal is an impressive woman with a deep understanding of video platform technology.
(Admin John: Last I checked the Kaltura WP plugin was in need of an update and not compatible with latest version of WP (3.5.1). Hoping soon, or real soon.
Assume one might need to win a webinar lottery to get to “speak” with Michal during the webinar, as one would think this event will be heavily attended. Gary sounds like he might speak from experience re Michal conversation or collaboration.
Kaltura is “open source” but I couldn’t get just the video link using any of my “tricks”…so to view the video, scroll over to the right. But it does “play”. Interesting that there’s a subtitle track available, and I had a survey question popup during playback. Which self destructed after 6 seconds. Hmmm.)
Maybe Cisco is a direct competitor with Kaltura?
Here’s a link to their WebEx course and training stuff.

And then somewhere in this conversation are other video hosting services, 3rd Party Adaptive Learning like Knewton or Kahn, LMS like Moodle or Chamilo.
Or stuff like Canvas or Adobe Connect etc.
We still have a LOT to figure out re which elements, or combination of elements, might work best in courses/ trainings we create/ support. I’d jump in with Kaltura if they can get their WP plugin updated…as a likely place to get started on some of this.
As we know, we have the capability to install open source into our website in addition to the WP “site” we have installed already.
