Is this the beginning of the end for mid-tier universities as we know them?
Georgia Tech is now offering a Computer Science Masters degree at $134 per credit; this compares to NMSU’s graduate school rate of $271/credit in-state and $814/credit out-of-state. Of course NMSU charges “student fees” on top of this as well.
If Geogia Tech’s example has any legs, the only Computer Science grad students at NMSU will be 1) those who really want to sample the life with other NMSU students in Las Cruces or 2) can’t meet the entry requirements of GaTech.
