There’s ongoing efforts to improve the mobile, including iOS and other, experience when accessing WP sites, including WP.org such as PSA is.
For now, although admin has looked into some plugins to install at our site, it’s problematic at best, with many “issues”… although it’s safe to assume we will pursue that more in the future. Perhaps create an APP for our site. But not today.
The possibly best present option for simple access and posting seems to be using a mobile app on your mobile device. For example, there’s one that is available for iOS called WordPress for iPad/iPhone.
This is software done by a group called “Automattic” which does the main plugins that are “almost” officially part of WP.org and WP.com such as Akismet, Jetpack, Gravatar, PollDaddy and others. So one would assume if they do it, it will work, or it will soon be fixed if it doesn’t.
Apparently, WP for iPhone/iPad is an open source project that Automattic drives.
Not sure if 3.6.2 of WordPress for iPhone/iPad is stable or not, the link at iTunes website sounds a bit confusing on this point…such as is there soon a 3.6.3? or is 3.6.2 the “fixed” version. Caution advised. It “sounds like” updating from previous version might be a problem, but installing fresh is not… but it might be smart to do some more research.
Note they also offer other mobile apps for working with WP sites, such as for Android etc.
I have not tested these AT ALL. Needless to say, it’s almost always best to have the latest versions of your OS installed…and to note that any hardware limitations of your particular device may be involved.
