Just liked the quote… but apparently it’s about a build out of fiber optic cable that will provide certain access to communities along I-57 near Chicago. Doesn’t explain much about the overarching structure of who determines access, pricing etc, and if in fact it will lead to FTTH roll out and services.

This “flyer” is quaintly out of date by today’s standards…but indicates someone is spending money on fiber infrastructure which might compete with giant telecoms at some point, and might support communities efforts to enable eLearning. It says it wants to “create a competitive market place”, which are certainly the correct “code” words.

But it does remind me of some of Gary’s presentations to CLC, which we have yet to do anything with here. (something we’d like to rectify). Some of the slides and points are probably still “current” and Ms. Murphy might have found a better slogan if she’d had the advantage of accessing Gary’s PPTs.
