Stuff from “GameOn Learning“…reminds me a bit of NMSU Learning Games Lab… but says that they incorporate “the most advanced negotiation simulator on the market”…which begs the question of how such a simulator is created, and how does it support an effective SLC? (see Go Ahead Caller post on using big data to support social learning.)

Simulation is a part of what games can do for learning…drop the learner into a new context rich environment, with simulated reality to experiment with and “see what certain choices” produce. “The Sims” being a good early example. Most “games” involve learning and achievement as core motivators.  “I’ve gotten to level 3!” (which means you’ve learned the game well, and “level 3” could represent a certificate in professional development, for example)
