Missed the live version of this webinar on Complexity to Simplicity in SBL from GoTo Training by Citrix. Audio goes from discernible if not wonderful, most of the time, to poor on occasion.

Personally, my approach to SBL is more intuitive than programmatic, but still found this useful to watch/listen to. Quality content pretty much for an hour’s presentation.  Noted section of video around 23:00+ where Roger Courville, the presenter, is defining story:

“Problem 1 in story telling is exactly the same as the problem of organizing information from complex to simple.” says Roger

“A story expresses how and why life changes. ”

“As learning and development people, we are all change agents of a sort”

“This isn’t easy…in fact, it’s doing the hard work on behalf of our learners”.

And also around 51:00 where he’s taking Q&A a bit, and talking about asking the users to help generate stories. And then mentions Dan Pink’s book “Drive”, and “mastery”.

Not sure how much of the “webinar” experience is retained in the recording. The recording doesn’t reflect much interaction for the 800 signees…though there’s about 10 minutes of Q&A indirectly addressed through moderator.
