short article in Slate talking about how reading is something “new again” in the online communications revolution, and that “eBook” doesn’t really cover all that’s different and new. They want a different word: “CodeX”.

We’ve struggled here at PSA with the need for new words to describe what used to be called a class, a course, a training, a seminar, a session, and many other words…for new learning experiences. Our new word: Defined Learning Experiences or DLE.

But having a new word, is not the same as being able to clearly articulate all that the new word is supposed to “define” “point to” or “explain”. The authors of this article also sound challenged to say what the “new stuff” actually is… and that’s par for the course these days in the ongoing communications revolution.
