What does it mean to have the ability to create and capture quality video with a tiny “camera” in your pocket, and to be able to distribute that video in the cloud, and how does that impact what we call eLearning?

For one, it means students/ learners can participate in a DLE through creating their own video experience. This is powerful, to say the least. Many other impacts of this reality are “coming soon”, or already here in YouTube and Skype etc.

Here’s a documentary “Side by Side” about the differences, and the transition, between film and video, specifically as it pertains to what we call a “Movie” or “a Film”. It’s available for streaming through Netflix. (a click on graphic will zoom it out)

Usefulness here is that some of the general issues of working with digital cameras and digital media are touched on, and a lot of talk about the medium in ways that could stimulate imagination for use in DLE too.
