Here’s the current Black Magic Designs product page for their innovative low cost high quality digital video/film production equipment. They continue to regularly release new products worthy of note, almost faster than we can review them. Several new ones since last checked their site just 6 weeks or so ago.
As with all rapid innovations, it will be a challenge for them to keep up with tech support and firmware and software updates, but they appear to be innovating their way to the forefront of “digital film” / video cameras, and pricing their competitors out of the market.
PSA will evaluate if any of their less expensive cameras would fit our needs for T3YBP. Several very capable models amazingly enough within the $1K to $3K range.
If video production is truly becoming “desktop” it’s partly because of innovators like Black Magic who are apparently in the sweet spot of the innovative curve.
