Gary asks, how soon will other certification programs be available such as this one for perhaps BS or MS?
As we have noted over recent years, the big bottleneck for advancing new learning tech, and DIY learning, or do learning as part of a SLC supported online, etc…. is Certification. Who gets to say you know what you need to know.
Will it be MIT who wants to charge you, what, way over $100k for a full degree program? Or if you learned the MIT coursework online for free, could you get some alternative certification that would be accepted by employers, and other qualification requiring situations. For a low fee???
The vision here is that economics of third party certification for learning content that is much more affordable and accessible to individuals and families, will drive new forms of certification.
