Group/ organization/ conference holding entity called Business Innovation Factory having it’s 10th event in Sept in Providence RI. Here’s a link to their site, which has a LOT of additional links and resources, including an archive of presentations from earlier conferences. TED founder Richard Saul Wurman is giving one of the presentations this time.

Here’s a “story” from last year’s conference for one example. LOVE AND THE NETWORK IN AN I-THOU WORLD

Watching this video below, I had no idea where she was going for most of the story/ talk. Something to do with network being the holy or magic or sacred thing in today’s world.

Deb seems to give off this “motherly” vibe that she’s very good at “taking care of her family”…except in her case her family seems rather large. =^)

One thinks, “this venture capitalist might not be too scary to work with”…maybe my terrific idea wouldn’t somehow get “stolen” in the process of developing it large… odd conjunction of business and “doing the right thing”?

How many people end conversations with clients by saying, “I love you” or giving them a hug and a kiss? Deb Mills-Scofield does. At the end of the day, when the work is done, she ascribes to Martin Buber’s I-Thou philosophy: we exist only in the way we encounter others.
