We’re going to want to collect a list of possible “location ideas” for outside the PSA LearningLab/ Studio shots. We already have the LC Farmer’s Market on the list, and possibly a local city park or two or three, which would allow us to “shoot and interview” using some more dynamic jib and possibly tracking shots. Then there’s Dripping Springs, which has, on a clear day, astounding vistas, as well as, if we haul our stuff to it, some other shot opportunities with nature background.
In this post, let’s add to that list a more ambitious, but potentially really cool location up near Carrizozo, in the old town of White Oaks. There’s a well preserved two story school house that I can probably get us access to the interior; previously worked with the person in charge for a tour because Margot’s great aunt taught school there in late 1800’s.
The day of our tour/visit there was an old cowboy present too, who told colorful tales of attending school there in the early 1920s, life in White Oaks, and a bunch of Billy the Kid tales, and I said someday I’d like to return to shoot him (with a camera) before he got too old to remember his stories.
So, maybe we can do it during out T3YBC… would be, IMHO, a terrific shoot providing some very kuhl footage for the “What is Learning” video. Compare and contrast the old ways with the new ways of today…and terrific “character” to have on screen. Basically priceless, if we can pull it off.
