Addressing the “whole person” in a SLC is a challenge that will take some years to develop; maybe even decades to reach the full potential of cloud tools to enable learning in a social construct. In the meantime, we can get some ideas of what that might look like when fully developed by taking a look at various forms of social media today.

Yelp is discussed here as a developing social media site, and suggests, if one uses one’s imagination, some ways of similar interaction in a SLC. Reviews being something people apparently really like to do, read, and use.

Just as an earlier suggestion of looking to infomercials as instructive about how to capture the attention of viewers, this about Yelp is intended to help us get outside our “box” and appropriate or adopt whatever seems to work, from wherever we can find it. After analysis of “why it works” we can then adapt it to our DLE needs.

All forms of media are fair game.
