Besides the ability to create DLE that is based on insight into how media works, and specifically how mobile media works, and all the techniques for “capturing the imagination”… there’s other aspects to successful media curation.
Media needs to be distributed, marketed, and readily accessed and this needs to be done according to some viable business model. In addition, educational credit for employers and others needs to be standardized, certified and monetized. That’s a whole lot of things to know; many current media based industries are currently trying to figure out the answers in today’s cloud access world.
The Music Industry is currently undergoing a second wave of disruption after almost not “surviving” the change from hard copies to files for songs. Now it has to change again from downloading files of songs, to the streaming of songs. Various business models for distribution, marketing, and access evolve and compete against each other, such as iTunes, Spotify, and many others. TV and film are undergoing similar changes.
DLE will be in this same pool of streaming competition, and will not reach the intended users without effective distribution, effective marketing, and popular access platforms.
