Reid Hoffman, the originator of LinkedIn, has a very broad vision of the cloud based future, as detailed in this New Yorker story from 10/ 2015. His vision is important for several reasons, perhaps foremost because he’s extremely well connected world wide, and strives to influence many sides of what the future will look like, as well as the present. He talks, presidents and prime ministers listen, among others.

Hoffman sees at least some of the complexities of organizing in the world of one to one, one to many, many to one, and many to many. This applies to what a “job” will look like in a world of distributed and interconnected capabilities and assets.

Currently the model for this is the “Gig Economy”, but likely the examples we see now like Uber and AirBnB are only the beginning of a much more complicated arrangement.

But how will this “new economy and new jobs” arrangement work? Hoffman thinks he knows at least part of that, and it includes education and certification, which led him to acquire one of our favorite online learning via video vendors, Linda.com.
