This has been talked about for a while, and like most FCC decisions could face a court case delay, but a good thing nonetheless. What would be even more helpful would be a roll out of broadband technology that competes with present telecoms monopolies in many/ most markets, and dramatically increases affordable access both in cities and rural areas.

Several “announced and ongoing experiments” from big players such as Google suggest ubiquitous affordable access isn’t just a fantasy. Not tomorrow exactly, but maybe say in the five to ten year window. This needs to occur to make DIY Healthcare and DIY Learning/ education really feasible for the areas most in need, such as SNM and W. Texas.
