David Willden, ED of Pecos Valley Regional Education Cooperative, and a leader of “Systems Go New Mexico” will speak Friday Sept 16 at 11:30am at the Sunset Grill 1274 Golf Club Rd, Las Cruces, NM, during the monthly membership meeting of HTCSNM.
The focus of his talk will be the SystemsGo New Mexico, a highly innovative high school rocketry/aeroscience curriculum that uses project-based learning to teach science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It helps students develop skills in teamwork, problem solving, and leadership–while having fun. As a result, they are encouraged to pursue careers in engineering industries.
The program was featured on NBC Nightly News, is endorsed by NASA, and is certified by The Space Foundation. Presently it’s used in high schools in Texas and New Mexico.
Graduates from the program work in leadership positions at NASA, SpaceX, Boeing, WSMR, and other prestigious industries and at schools across the country.
