There’s still the problem for Mac users and others who might not have a compatible computer to use with Oculus Rift. Supposedly need a windows high powered games computer. Oculus CEO Palmer Luckey was famously quoted that he would release a Mac version “if they ever release a good computer”.
That’s the same Luckey who has recently been in the news for supporting trolling and dirty tricks known as “shitposting”. Luckey did not appear at today’s Oculus conference, reportedly because of the “shitposting” controversy. Zuckerberg may have a different future in mind for Oculus than Luckey.
Follow up…at todays conference Oculus Rift new CEO Brendan Iribe says it will be compatible with much cheaper less powerful PC. And Zuckerberg says they are working on a standalone VR hardware what wouldn’t require a PC.
