New Orleans has an active educational reform underway, including various charter schools. This endeavor has not been without controversy. Here’s a link to one of the leading entities, “New Schools for New Orleans“.
And a blog entry entitled “Turning Around Wilson Charter School”, below. Under the new US Dept of Education administration, it would not be a surprise for models of educational reform such as New Schools for New Orleans to be cited and promoted for implementation nation wide.
Within the last two years or so, we have posted here reports on various successful charter schools in the Bay Area, and elsewhere in California, which would also likely be focused on as “one way to go forward”.
