Although calling learning online “Distance Learning” isn’t current terminology, the stats below are.
Today, we are better served to call learning “outside a physical classroom” Online Learning. The distance involved might be not far indeed, plausibly in a different room in the same building, or elsewhere on campus such as the Student Union, or in a campus dorm room, or in a cafe just across the street, or at home somewhere else in the town. True, a student may be logging in from anywhere in the world too, which would more distant, but the whole point of a digital virtual space is it’s not on the IRL map, so distance and time zones are irrelevant.
