Someone I know:

We had an online faculty meeting yesterday morning which was basically just a chance to check in with each other, and that was nice. We get several daily updates from Admin, which is also nice.

Joe’s math department is keeping in touch with each other mostly via text with some emails. His kids took one of their common assessments yesterday, and Joe realized that there was cheating happening. Kids who hadn’t done any work at all were completing 25 challenging questions in less than five minutes and getting answers all right. But these tests are not being counted for much, so it won’t help the cheaters.

My Google Hangout classes continue to go well, even if a bit impromptu. I have discovered that the kids really very much need to spend 20 minutes of the class time checking in with each other, so in the end we get less than an hour of instructional time for each class, but that is about as long as they can stay focused anyway.

Some faculty members are offended when the kids participate in class from their beds; I could care less. They look kind of cute in their PJs with their stuffed animals. The homework to have them watch a movie worked VERY well indeed. I will repeat that one.
