Here’s more about the company Kris usefully noted in previous post on Virtual Schools,

K12 Inc. with its 3 option approach, could be a model of what educational institutions might look like in the (near?) future. Since the “Virtual School” and the online classroom and the LFH circumstance are all in development/ flux, along with the traditional educational institutions, companies that try to meld various different pieces of the educational puzzle will be worthy of watching for what evolves.

Many US State Legislatures will be looking to cut education costs, such as California in a big way, and a one stop educational services entity might find itself in demand. One also expects, as Gary suggests, that big tech will move ahead with vertical education platforms, and they have the capital to establish just that.

The K12 Inc. website is here.

We are K12, providing families an online option for a high-quality, personalized education experience. With innovative technology, inspiring teachers, and a dynamic, interactive curriculum, students can thrive, find their passion, and learn at the pace that’s right for them. Over one million students have chosen K12-powered schools

K12 offers three distinct options including tuition-free online public school, tuition-based online private school, and individual online courses from the K12 curriculum.

Online schooling is a great option for all kinds of students including advanced learners, students who may need extra support, homeschoolers, college- and career-minded students, and others who are looking for education to fit an alternative schedule like athletes, performers, and students in military families.
