Should we be pleased with this news of funding,  or note how little it is compared to what’s needed to really push Telehealth ahead in NM? $825K listed below would pay for something like 10-12 positions hired per year, given salaries plus benefits. Some of that employment needs to monitor the grant fulfillment, and admin the projects engendered.

Telehealth has been “around for a good 15 years at UNM”, for one example, and it’s unclear how much advancement has occurred during that time.

But we can imagine at least some advancements should be possible, and that’s a v. good thing compared to nothing doing.

The Biden-Harris Administration has announced key investments that will strengthen telehealth services in rural and underserved communities and expand telehealth innovation and quality nationwide. These investments—totaling over $19 million—are being distributed to 36 award recipients through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
