What constitutes “edtech” is broad, as the lines separating education from parenting, productivity, health and other adjacent sectors are increasingly blurred. Name a job, skill or hobby, or ask any question, and chances are there is a company or course dedicated to it.

 

The above is another way of referencing PSA’s 7 Core elements of effective online learning. It also touches on some aspects of the 501c3 chartered mission statement for PSA online services support.

“Adjacent sectors and blurred lines” is a good way of framing the challenge of knowing what online services can/ should be. Where does one silo end, and another begin, and how do we turn silos into a “one thing” where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts? PSA has previously suggested the “pizza model” for online services, where the ingredients are identifiable but blend into a thing we use/ consume as a whole.
