One of the “features for the local community” of the very costly Spaceport America project, was/ and is, a kickback of 25% of tax revenues collected locally for that project, Such monies were/ are to be spent on space education projects in the counties affected, including Otero, and Dona Ana.
One such project is the Space Lab” that creates “real seeming” experiences for school kids who launch and “control” space ships/ rockets and learn about important STEM topics by doing so. Similarly, “Teachers In Space” recently ran experiences for teachers here.
