OpenAI’s new user interface simplifies customizing GPT models for various needs. Seven prompts are provided to create custom GPTs, including an industry-specific expert, language tutor, lifestyle guide, educational tool for kids, event planning assistant, motivating sidekick, and creative writing companion. These prompts can be tailored to specific goals, preferences, and age groups, making GPTs more personalized and effective.
Tom’s Guide can be a useful resource, and in this instance he dives into what custom prompts can accomplish using ChatGPT’s new interface first available for Windows, and soon for MacOS and iOS.
It is similar to tools like Google’s NotebookLM and Claude’s Projects…and similar from Perplexity, where the LLM can be customized to work with materials and archives more directly tailored to a user’s interests and needs.
In other words the power and capability of the tool can be greatly increased, and costs can be better managed, as some of the processing has already been done by the user through collecting and curating the materials before introducing them to the LLM.
