How Moodle is used to support teaching and learning in a VLE -Virtual learning environment for Health Care workers in Uganda (Infectious Deseases Institute Virtual Learning Environment.
IDI, in its efforts to provide post training support to its Alumni (trainees), developed this VLE tool in addition to the other tools currently in use such as voice call through ATIC.
This was in appreciation of the fact that when trainees returned to their places of work, the classroom lessons/trainings did not necessarily fit the description their work- neither were the patient cases discussed in class as it was in real life experiences.
Therefore, additional support was required to help them translate what was learnt in class to fit the individual needs of patients/skills and the context in which trainees work.
