Dr. Clayton Christensen (Harvard) is the father of “Disruption” theory and has had a tremendous influence on my concepts of business models and how markets work. I have previously posted about his view that Higher Education is poised to be disrupted – not because of the technology ) e-Learning), but because of the failure to adopt new business models in reaction to the inevitable transformation that is taking place.

You can read Shuster’s synopsis of the interview on his blog.
Learning is also learning in healthcare… as “Christensen” says, some of the changes from communication technology were predictable and now fairly obvious. I wonder if there’s anyone who can similarly analyze and predict healthcare as to coming changes from communication tech revolution.
A lot of the problem is obfuscation of true costs for the consumer. Can we “learn” data that will turn the tables, so to speak. (chargemaster tables…)
