Hand out for Training Magazine Network webinar on informal learning.
The handout contains some good quotes for “learning is” . The facilitator, Dr. Allison Rossett a professor of Educational Technology, presented a survey tool called yinyang. The tool provides a series of questions to engage clients in a richer conversation about how informal learning may or may not work for their organizations.
Strategies are then suggested to create more informal learning depending on the organization. Organizations with a high need for compliance may still provide informal learning through access to expert information and communities of support.
I looked at this post in edit view, to try to see what might be going on with the links.
Some strange things happened for me when I did…sometimes the links would show up correctly in the link popup box from hitting the chain button….but sometimes the link would go away. Very weird. I wonder if there’s something you are doing that is making things funky, or if it’s someplace else, like in your browser software or elsewhere, that is making things not work.
Doesn’t happen that way for me, AFAIK, so there must be some explanation. Assume we can figure this one out eventually.
BTW, one of her “informal learning” slides is the same quote on the only thing that gets in the way of my learning is my education…as we have in our Learning Is slideshow. Training Mag has impressed me with the volume and apparent quality and especially the relevance of their white papers and webinars.
