The power of TechStars is being put to the test by the demands of education. On Tuesday, the Kaplan EdTech Accelerator, powered by the well-known Boulder, Colo.-based startup program, will announce its inaugural cohort of companies.
Kaplan, a big formal instruction leader, offering informal mentoring start ups such as Mentor Mob an opportunity to work together. I checked out Mentor Mob once and found it fairly basic then. Check out the list of startups in the first class.
Several of the startups are of note, as you suggest, as they show where other people think the opportunities may be
Degreed, and Uvize, for example cover two areas we have noted previously.
Degreed:
1) What or who will be the new gatekeepers of credentials and qualifications, since an individual can accrue learning experience from multiple sources and forms online.
Uvize:
2) What about groups that need a mix of learning needs supported, including soft skills along with subject matter…and whose re-entry into “education” is problematic?
