The I-Lab online modules are found under programs from the Training Xchange at the University of Washington to provide researchers, educators, and program directors with innovative solutions that transform research into adult learning programs.
The I-labs (Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences) modules connect science to everyday learning sharing new science discoveries about mind and brain development for ages 0-5. The modules are each about 20 minutes in length. The modules contain slides with about 30 seconds of audio, video and surveys per slide. I recognized the Canvas LMS platform.
The Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences (I-LABS) is building an online library of resources for early learning professionals, parents, caregivers, policymakers, and interested community members. The online training modules are designed to share the latest science of child development with the broader community. Each module explores a particular topic of science, such as early brain development, children’s imitation, or language acquisition, and nests it within the larger landscape of child development. All modules are free and are designed to be useful for both everyday interactions with children and for informing systems-level programs and policies.
While the audience seems to be professionals, the delivery of the content is interesting as a starting point for PSA design of online informal learning for other adult learning audiences.
