SOM is tool for screen capturing of one’s desktop, so anything on the desktop can become, through time, a video. Features like a live red pointer, IIRC, and such, and the video is then hosted by SOM on their servers, from which one gets a link that one can embed wherever. Not totally wonderful in all aspects, as they want to be paid, and other not totally ignorable annoyances.
Maybe Camtasia is a better alternative, or other newer things out there I don’t know about now. Let’s find out. Lil Help?
As we probably know, it’s sometimes quite a challenge to download an online video off a website. I use third party software, and/or sometimes try to look at the page code to see if I can find the video file to download. Often unsuccessful.
Here I couldn’t find a way to download it, but I did get to the page with the URL, which I pasted into the “Insert/Edit” tinymce button window that opens, on the first pane called “General” in the “source” blank.
This doesn’t appear to work, because, while the video seems to try to LOAD, it never seems to actually do so.
Does anyone want to see if they can download this advertising for SOM, which should be easy to propagate online, and no copyright issues involved? If so, you’ll need to provide me with the download URL, if you find one that works, and we’ll upload it to our HostGator server space, and link to it from there. Or I’ll show you how to do it… something like that.
