I believe Gary introduced us to the entrepreneur meetup group, Startup Las Cruces. I receive notifications from this group and noticed a meetup on June3, 2015 at 12:00pm called “The Game”. The meetup groups in Las Cruces are worth watching since the attendees may be helpful for PSA interviews.
The featured speaker is Neyha Sehgal, “Building an Innovation Ecosystem” Neyha has lived, studied and worked all over the world from Nigeria, to Sydney, to London.
Her latest opportunity brings her to RedSky –a new healthcare innovation incubator and accelerator located in El Paso, Texas.
Neyha is actively involved in the community, currently serving as Chairman of the City of El Paso’s Fair Housing Task Force (Mayor-Appointed), Board Member of Creative Kids, President-Elect of El Paso’s Pro-Musica Board of Directors, Editorial Advisory Board Member of life sciences news digest Synapse, and a graduate of the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership El Paso program. In addition, she was recently selected to participate in the 2015 Leadership Texas program for women.
In 2014, she was voted The City’s “Top 30 Under 30”, an award to professionals who go above and beyond to make a difference. Neyha received her Masters of Business Administration in Healthcare Policy and Management and a Masters of Public Health in International Health. Her mission is to help position the Paso del Norte region as a formidable innovator and competitor in the world of healthcare innovation.
Looked up the address, and today’s meeting is at a Sports Bar and Grill called “The Game”. This confused me at first., as I thought the topic of the meeting was something to do with Gamification, although the topic is listed as Building the Innovation Ecosystem.
But of course Neyha Sehgal seems like a very good person to know, and learn about, and perhaps interview at some point. Healthcare Innovation is a PSA interest as well… we “interviewed” the group doing remote online diagnosis and care for LCPS…that was working out of a facility at the Memorial Hospital complex off Telshor.
Alas, I’m unable to attend today.
The “Red Sky” link is also of interest…the website has a blog and latest news etc. Part of today’s landscape that didn’t exist a few years ago. Startup incubators popping up everywhere. This is part of PSA’s mission, to know generally where good DLE can go to “scale up”.
