This is kind of just for fun, but then a good DLE includes that part of life we call fun too. From the NY Times story with more on other rollercoasters of note. A good example of how video is used to convey and experience experiences hard to “present” in other forms of media.
Hollywood caught on quickly that one of the strongest draws of “moving pictures” was kinetic experiences for the audience, or sheer spectacle. Online learning video should keep visceral spectacle as one arrow in the quiver, among many. (if one desires the full effect, click the HD button turning it blue…. and go full scream, I mean, fullscreen.)
Thanks for the roller coaster ride! Riding the roller coaster at the Western Washington State Fair is one of my favorite things to do. I usually go with my son who also enjoys the thrill. So where is the sound of people screaming….need that!
Ah, the screaming is pretty much missing, although just at the tip top I hear a girl scream, before it plunges almost straight down. Maybe these go so fast people can’t manage to get a scream out before it’s on to the next “thrill”.
But yes, learning should have some thrills too. Maybe a few vampires.
