Not to play favorites, but this story on the new Google Phone and its fit with other related hardware and software, including VR and AR, can be read as a survey of current mobile issues and approaches. We might just as well have done a post for Apple’s ecosystem, or Amazon’s. Maybe we will yet.

The point is it’s not a mobile phone anymore, it’s an ecosystem with mobile devices, wireless devices, ubiquitous access at home or office… lots of talking and listening with the device incorporated into a large “world” which includes AR and VR hardware and software, and of course, the web which includes streaming and broadcasting and YouTubes and Vines. (at the corner of YouTube and Vine?)

And maybe a phone call or two.

These tools are as useful for learning as for anything else…or maybe more so for learning. The ecosystem idea can also be thought of as a new “school’ space or environment…except in this new learning space, work and living and learning are mixed together much more than the old silo system of school buildings encompassing students for the “school day”.

Gets one thinking in a bit more detail of what tomorrow looks like.
