Personally, My daughter had a friend in high school that completed the program in those early years. Her friend was living with an aunt and uncle at the time. The uncle knew about the program as he was a teacher. For the friend, the program gave her access to a college education.
According to my daughter, the last she heard from the friend, she was working with homeless teens.
