PSA supports the effort to manage funds and governance for adding community school programs at Las Cruces Public school sites.
Through a joint powers agreement between the city and the schools, a public board consisting of representatives chosen by the city and the district will govern “a network of high-quality community schools to promote student achievement, positive conditions for learning and the well-being of families and communities.”
Community Schools exist around the country and address the many needs students bring to school. Here is an article explaining the role of a community school.
