Capturing the learning imagination in a more immersive environment requires delivery of online learning experiences in many modalities such a blended, hybrid, synchronous, asynchronous. Existing online modality terminology has become confusing to the learner in understanding how an online learning program will be delivered. This article explains the terminology and various online modalities. In a more immersive learning environment, online learning program design will allow more learner flexibility in moving between modalities.
