PSA has long supported creating better videos for learning. The article breaks down the patterns recognized that are currently successful.
The patterns we recognize include :
-synchronous learning – content focused on working memory which is limited.
-asynchronous learning- the diffuse learning happening in social interaction that leads to long term memory.
What do we want? The examples from recent VR research posts show the possibilities leading to processing emotional appeal for long term memory. The tic Tok post about the best ways to learn according to the kiddos…such as posting their own videos to explain a topic (showing understanding)
The Marshall McLuhan post is a reminder to observe the whirlpool presently around us and to lash ourselves to to what works cooperating with forces around us while bridging the gap between evolution and the technology we need for survival.
Kudos to Kris for providing very useful “bullet point take-aways” from the posts she cites.
