This was recommended by the same folks from MIT Media Lab that did the Learning Creative Learning course…
Our friends at the National Writing Project (NWP) just launched Making Learning Connected (#clmooc), a new online course for educators. It’s open for sign-up now!
More info on what the course covers, how it works and the timeline, are available on the about page. It’s not so much a course, but a series of modules that you can dip into. We are big fans of the folks at NWP and are working together on other ideas to support online communities of educators in the future. One plan we are hatching is to host a massive virtual unconference, using Google Hangouts, some time later in the year.
The MOOC I’m presently “dropping into” is also delivered on Google+ using hangouts to share expert information . Since only 10 people can be live at one time, the others are asking/answering questions at the event site after viewing the recording. This is not the same as an Adobe Connect site where many participants are able to chat live during the presentation. Yet, Google + is free and the MOOC format offers a useful approach to professional development.
