Please test the new slide show on the home page…does it load well for you, any anomalies or feedback you might notice or have?
Now using a new plugin called oQey Gallery, which is Flash based, but says it loads HTML5 for mobile devices. I don’t know if flash is better than Java Script, or not… the former slide show was probably java script.
Also of note, there’s the possibility of adding sound track to this slide show, so we could have narration, or music, or both…
The slideshow also has a expand to fullscreen button, but hard to see it.
John, the slide show looks great on my MAC. On my ipad, the slide show does not show up…just says PSA Home 1. Like the idea of adding a sound track.
Works on my PC – faster loading than before, although one needs to start the show by click the arrow to start it.
My iPad has same problem as Kris – display is blank save for “PSA Home” and the arrows. If I click the right arrow, nothing happens, but if I click the lest arrow I get a series of images starting with two kissing clowns, followed by an number of old balack and white photos – NOT the Learning slides. Strange
Turns out that the back arrow is showing the “images” from the slide show, starting with the last one – the Text slides do not appear on my iPad and, as I said, the forward arrow does not show anything (when you first land on the page).
FYI, the images in this show are mostly or all JPEG, and the slides are PNG.
Sounds like a “code” malfunction (plugin BUG) if the slide show on iPad is backwards, so to speak. Perhaps it’s connected to the fact that there are two file types, and the iPad version doesn’t like the PNG with this slideshow plugin. So perhaps if I save the slides as JPEG, it would work okay. Or not.
I actually have a new iPad myself to test with, except with all the website doings everyday, I haven’t gotten the iPad out of the box yet. Anyway, thanks for testing, and there’s a to do topic of making the website work with mobile devices which has yet to be addressed…and won’t be for a week or so, I imagine.
Then we’ll be having fun with phones and tablets etc, hoping to get lucky and have it all work without too much hassle. Hahahaha….
Gary has pointed out than on his PC the Home page doesn’t adjust well to various window sizes….which can be a complicated problem. Part of this could be the OS… part is the browser/ part is the WP site/ part is the theme plugin/ part is the slideshow plugin…part is the image size in the slideshow…
This is where someone who has some website design expertise could narrow it down to what I need to “fix”. Faster than my own trial and error tests, or involving you guys in trial and error tests…
Looks good on MY monitor =^) Hoping to get lucky here a bit. Not doing this today though.
