From a YouTube conversation on the Ezra Klein’ YouTube channel interviewing Anthropic’s co-founder Jack Clark.
Mr Clark has a lot on his mind here on 2/26/2026 as co-founder of Anthropic, which is , as of this posting, in a sharp conflict with the Pentagon over autonomous use and surveillance of Americans.
Perhaps Anthropic should have seen this coming when they chose to sell their AI use to a government, especially the military part of a government, although Palantir was the go-between that facilitated that use.
But it does bring up the coming conflicts between the AI providers, and the institutional users who purchase from the AI model makers. Such as Schools and Colleges who may also want to limit certain AI capabilities or create uses that the AI company doesn’t want to see them do.
