The Washington State Department of Health is covering costs for school based diagnostic and screening tests through July 2022. My grandson’s school requires weekly Covid tests for all students so that schools remain open this school year. Currently, no positive tests at my grandson’s school. The good news for a grandma missing her grandkid, I can use the L2R website to find a Walgreen near my house to take a covid test before holiday gathering.

Kris, no infections is terrific! Not the case in Las Cruces Public Schools, where covid is rampant, and testing sporadic at best.
We are watching the disruption of the prior reality where educational stasis predominated. Somewhere in all the permutations and local adaptations and innvovations …there are useful new ways of doing education, There would, we hope, be larger roles for parents… and especially grandparents who might well have more time available to be involved.
We may be testing/ screening kids teachers parents and grandparents for some time to come. Kind of ironic in that “testing” has been so controversial for schools and kids even back when the goal was measuring learning achievement, and not viral loads.
