This is one of the reasons why PSA has been exploring possible Visions of what the future co-development with AI might look like. We need to develop some sort of taxonomy of most useful ideas supporting these possible visions.
The POV is based mostly on the long history of homo sapiens advancing knowledge one hard earned piece at a time. And then embedding that knowledge in the “next generation” so that the overall human capability, and their meta-awareness of their environment, moved forward over the eons.
Today, with AI, such learning advancements are moving ahead in leaps of a matter of months, not eons.
But the same process of knowledge being a core part of human awareness that moves from generation to generation incorporating very human contexts… needs to be retained as today’s context for developing / educating the person.
The “Humaness” of it all, is, as the article below states, something present in a specific “local” context, and the challenge is to continue to embed that specificness and local culture into learning by the new generations. As those generations progress rapidly in learning, using the near infinite LLM content, they need to continue within a cultural home that supplies unique meanings.
Extended_Elder_ProjectBelow is one vision of what ” learning using AI as a tool” might look like.
