There are signs in the world of politics that some politicians think they can gain votes by running against AI. This has occurred in both Red and Blue states.

In New Mexico this week, 4 left leaning state legislators held a press conference talking about submitting a bill to halt all Data Center development in the state.

Elsewhere, former “Tea Party” politicians proclaimed they will start a similar to Tea Party movement to push back against AI in every respect.

Meanwhile the AI Tech Leaders have been squabbling with the current administration about regulations for AI, which is a change in the weather from earlier joint announcements of working hand in glove with each other.

From an AI technology proponent perspective, it hasn’t helped that they have been squabbling amongst themselves, notably with the very public airing of dirty laundry durning the Sam Altman / Elon Musk court case. Today, Apple announced it is suing OpenAI and OpenAI is rumored to be suing Apple soon too.

The article below notes some of the current AI PR challenges, and there seem to be daily stories about how pushback against AI is gaining steam: such as reports of a school district totally banning any AI from their schools.
