I added a keynote file in quick time to the SLC Core Concept page, but unable to view it. I ‘m impressed with keynote…just adding images and content for now. Very easy to work with. I didn’t try adding it to Slide Share.
Added Quicktime file and pdf here to see if it works.
To link using the “SLC KEYNOTE BUTTON” one works with the Layout Builder section of the edit page. You will see two blue buttons, the one on the right, is labeled “button”, there is a section on it over on the right end of the button with 3 parallel lines. Click on that. It will open another editing window, where if you look around you will see a spot to paste in the URL. Also the box, “open in a new window” should be checked. You will see there also the place to put the title of the button that will show up on the actual page. I’ve already got a SLC Keynote Title there.
I will add another button that says PDF so that you can try a practice link to that…
I checked it out and both PDF and Quick Movie work. Quick Movie is very slow to load.
just a further FYI.
Adding the links to the content box, will not show up on the page if there are added items from the Layout Builder, as is the case on all the Core Concept pages. So, I cut and pasted your links into the Layout Builder section on each of the big buttons there, according to the instructions below.
Not something you need to learn how to do…as there will just be a few of these, AFAIK.
Or maybe I’ll do it for you, and you can look at it….
the items in the Layout Builder sometimes bounce around…when one is working with them. kind of like gremlins…and sometimes it’s hard to select the button you want to work on, if there’s more than one.
Keynote has transitions between slides…you know, dissolves etc, and you can fly in text with various effects for fun too.
I haven’t taken any additional steps as yet to “make keynote” files work as keynote files.
Probably need a plugin for that. Maybe will work on that tomorrow.
