50 Visions of Human / AI Co Evolution

The vantage point being addressed in these last few posts mid September 2025… is that we can see here and now impressive versions of AI.  Hundreds of millions use ChatGPT. Google has just incorporated Gemini into the Chrome Browser. Meta’s latest version of the Rayban glasses has all sorts of AI embedded in AR and VR. Apple says AI of an advanced nature is coming next year, with a new Siri etc.

These advances have unsurprisingly garnered ongoing reviews and commentary by all sorts of reviewers and by the commentariat.

Hot takes vary… from “this is the most profound innovation in human history” (Tim Cook just said that to Jim Kramer, Bill Gates has said similar) …to the other end of the spectrum…doomers and wised-up takes that emphasize limits, failures, and cost caps leading to dead ends.

Yes the hype machine for AI is in overdrive and when CapEx is multiple Trillion with a T, risks abound, and predicting a bubble collapse is not unreasonable. Yet that’s just one perspective on perhaps the most rapidly developing and costly tech ever.

But what we often can’t see, and what isn’t really being stated broadly, is that this is the beginning of all sorts of possibilities of AI co-evolution with humans, and we are nowhere near the “we know this thing” status quo plateau moment.

Instead, as humans do, and as AI also does, there will be on ongoing development of new approaches, MO, hardware, software, interfaces, infrastructure, capabilities, and concerns.

IOW… 50 Visions of Human / AI Co Evolution is just what acolytes of Mary Meeker are working on right now.

Let a thousand Mary Meekers bloom to fertilize our imaginations with what we should expect as this co-evolution proceeds. Which means we need a certain openness to “new thinking” and more speculation about what sort of “new man/ woman” we need to adjust to.

The circumstances of existence are always in flux; for example ecological niches or systems change with the changes of the earth over time. As always, one of the functions of death is that a new generation of plants /animals/ AI entities is reborn/ born into changed ecological niches, and grow into them in a way those not born into can ever achieve.
